Wie man ein Guru wird

Robert W. Bly - führender US-Texter - erklärt, wie er zu einer respektierten Autorität wurde. Und wieso er nun Anderen empfiehlt, es ihm gleichzutun.
Meine Lieblingsstelle:
«So many small-business people struggle - titanically - to keep the cash register ringing and the work flowing.
They network, send out mailings, make cold calls, and stay up nights worrying, whether they’ll get enough work to pay the bills. “An entrepreneur,” someone once said, “is someone who will work 80 hours a week for himself to avoid working 40 hours a week for someone else.” In exchange for freedom from commuting and a boss, entrepreneurs put up with uncertainty, anxiety, unsteady work, and uneven cash flow.
But a few don’t. These seemingly blessed entrepreneurs – freelancers, self-employed professionals, small business owners – always seem to have all the business they can handle... and then some. Potential customers line up to buy from them, often waiting months until they can be serviced.
So strong is the customers desire to buy from these particular sellers that they’ll wait and wait – and pay top dollar – even though other sellers are available now, are eager to take the business, and charge much less.
Why are some enterpreneurs busy and in demand virtually alle the time, while others struggle to get by? Because they have established themselves as leaders in their fields.
They are, in short, Gurus.
Recognize that the business world is guru-driven - and that guru status can be yours if you work at it... gurus are not born, they are manufactured through selfmarketing and promotion.»
Achtung, aus meiner Sicht und Erfahrung fehlt im Titel des Buches vor der 60 eine 3. Mindestens, was europäische Verhältnisse betrifft...
