Querdenkereien eines Querkopfs

zimmermann

Seine Höhenflüge machten ihn in Werberkreisen bekannt und in Kundenkreisen berüchtig: Werbetexter und Ex-Kampfpilot Howard Luck Gossage.

Meine Lieblingsstellen:

«Most good copywriters are very strange people who have only reached copywriting after eliminating every other means of making a living through writing...

...once a man becomes resigned to making a good living by writing a few words at a time and writing them over and over again in various combinations, he is likely to think of himself as a professional copywriter...

...an art director, on the other hand, remains an artist. A copywriter has no such illusions. The tolerances are much broader in art than in writing, probably because fewer clients can draw than can read and write.

So, if an artist does a piece of work - an abstract, say - that no one understands, chances are he will get away with it, even though he has exceeded the medium. There is much smaller chance that a writer will get away with it.»
